Women Architects of Change (Femmes architectes du changement) is the title of the travelling exhibition currently on display at Université Laval’s School of Architecture. The exhibition stems from the international project BUONE NUOVE, which was first presented at MAXXI in Rome in 2021 and later hosted at the Centre de design de l’UQAM in Montreal in January 2025. It aims to “document how women’s contributions over recent decades have brought new momentum to contemporary architecture.” For its stop in Montreal, the exhibition expanded to include sections dedicated to Quebec and Ontario, notably featuring the professional journey of our associate architect Lilia Koleva and her involvement in the CHUM project.
The presentation at Université Laval refocuses on the Quebec context, showcasing the work of 16 professionals and their committed approaches to today’s cultural, social, and environmental challenges. A publication highlighting their projects and practices will be released this spring, and a new iteration of the exhibition has already been announced for Vancouver.
