The residences, each of which comprises some 400 units, encourage mutual aid and community spirit through the inclusion of common areas such as shared gardens, arts and crafts rooms, kitchen workshops and communal dining rooms, billiard rooms and golf simulators, as well as exercise rooms, yoga studios and indoor swimming pools. They also offer personalized apartments, including several “memory care” and prestige options, and care units intended for semi-dependent people requiring daily assistance.
The desire to stimulate social ties is also implemented at the urban level, with Chartwell residences located in dynamic neighbourhoods and enriching their mobility and activity networks. Out of consideration for maintaining the autonomy of seniors, physical connections are integrated into the architectural program to provide residents with ease of access to local services such as shopping centres, restaurants, shops and healthcare facilities.
By designing buildings with regard to their urban setting, we contribute to the revitalization of neighbourhoods, in particular through the development of new pedestrian networks (Le Saint-Gabriel) or the conversion of old industrial buildings (Montcalm).
Our teams implement a global approach to sustainable development, bringing that philosophy to bear on all aspects and phases of the operation and actualizing it through simple devices such as drainage valleys and accessible green roofs.
